German and Joy

Filed in Wedding — August 5, 2018

Today I married German and Joy at the Rotary Botanical Gardens in Janesville, WI. The Wellness Garden that German and Joy chose for their ceremony was spectacular! This was a brand new garden that had just been dedicated the previous month and they were the first couple to use it for a wedding. I was so impressed and consider it one of the prettiest gardens for an outdoor wedding. I also had the delight of marrying a fantastic couple. We did all our planning for the ceremony via phone calls and emails since they live in Los Angeles. But when I met them for the first time at the rehearsal it felt like we already knew one another. Wishing them all the best in their years ahead as husband and wife.

What does Koru mean?

KORU (kor-roo) is the Maori word for “loop.” For the indigenous people of New Zealand, the koru spiral represents a fern frond beginning to unfurl. The koru symbol embodies new beginnings, a new phase of life, renewal, hope for the future, positive change, personal growth, working in harmony, bringing people together, and being mindful of the good things in life.

At Koru Ceremony, we strive to personify these ideals and celebrate a new beginning through ceremony and ritual.
