Chelsea and Donny

Filed in Wedding — October 10, 2020

Today I had two weddings. The first one was an elopement at Magnolia Bluff State Park in Evansville, WI. ( I am also officiating Chelsea and Donny’s bigger celebration next year too.) So today was an opportunity for immediate family, including their adorable 4-year-old daughter, to celebrate their wedding with them on the perfect fall day.

In some cultures, it is believed that if a ladybug lands on you then that’s very lucky. Or if you see a ladybug that means good weather is near or that a person will soon have luck with love or money.

Well, if ladybugs are a sign of good luck and love then this marriage is off to a great start. I was amazed at how many ladybugs were landing on us during the ceremony.

Chelsea and Donny were married on 10-10-20.

What does Koru mean?

KORU (kor-roo) is the Maori word for “loop.” For the indigenous people of New Zealand, the koru spiral represents a fern frond beginning to unfurl. The koru symbol embodies new beginnings, a new phase of life, renewal, hope for the future, positive change, personal growth, working in harmony, bringing people together, and being mindful of the good things in life.

At Koru Ceremony, we strive to personify these ideals and celebrate a new beginning through ceremony and ritual.
